Destyne R. Miller - Head Theatre Director
Destyne R. Miller is a theatre director, playwright, and educator originally from Gatesville, TX. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Directing at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University. She cultivated her artistic and professional career in Houston, TX.
Destyne’s work honors the voices of Black and marginalized contemporaries, reimagines the classical canon through a contemporary lens, and practices radical joy as both method and mission. Her directing credits include Les Liaisons Dangereuses (DGSD), Antony & Cleopatra (DGSD), Witch (Yale Cabaret), Twink Death (Yale Cabaret), The Care and Keeping of You Pages 76–77 (DGSD), Pipeline (Firecracker Productions), and Seven Guitars (August Wilson in the Park). She assisted Ralph Peña on the Pulitzer Prize finalist The Far Country (Yale Repertory Theatre) and wrote and produced Worn Out Soles, which won Best Play at the Houston Fringe Festival.
Prior to attending Yale, Destyne served as the director of the Bush Theatrical Ensemble at George Bush High School. Under her leadership, the ensemble earned state awards and honors in the University Interscholastic League One Act Play Contest, including a state championship with We Are Proud to Present. Her productions of Ruined, Water By the Spoonful, In the Blood, and her original play, The Forgotten Prayer.
Destyne has served as an instructor at the University of Houston’s School of Theatre and Dance and has held leadership roles as a board member of the Texas Educational Theatre Association and Texas Thespians, Inc. Miller holds an MFA in Directing from the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale, as well as an MA from the University of Houston and a BA from Grambling State University.
Sheri Shoemake - Technical Director
Is the Technical Theatre Director at Hightower High School here in Fort Bend ISD. This is her tenth year teaching. She is very excited to be at Hightower High School as she is a Fort Bend ISD Alumni; She went to Sugarland Junior High, Dulles her freshman year and was the second graduating class from Clements High School, where she studied Theatre under Jerry Baber. She has a B.A. from the University of North Texas in Theatre and Anthropology and a Masters in Theatre from the University of Houston. She is also GT Certified.
She has been working in professional theatre for the past 40 years. She has designed lights for two Presidents – George W. Bush & George H.W. Bush. She is currently the Entertainment Manager for Comicpalooza, the Show Call Director & Lighting Designer for Night Court, and the Stage Manager for Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra. She loves being part of the PPH family!

Roderick Brannon- Musical Director
has been teaching Mathematics for over 15 years. His motto is, "Math is Logic, and Logic is thinking. Thus, allowing yourself to fully comprehend the challenging and often abstract concepts of Mathematics is directly related to the level of critical thinking ability that you possess." So, let's get ready to think!
Mr Brannon has been the Musical Director for Poseidon's Playhouse for the past 6 years and has appeared in In The Heights and Dreamgirls

Randrea Singleton - Choreographer
Coach Singleton is excited to lead the Hightower Dance Department for another year! Coach Singleton coaches the award-winning Hi-Lites and has been a member of the Hightower Hurricanes since 2022. Coach Singleton has been in working in education since 2015, teaching at the secondary and post-secondary levels.
